While Dankook University does not directly provide scholarships to exchange/visiting students, we do offer opportunities to apply for the Global Korea Scholarship and the DUO-Korea Fellowship Programme. Additionally, students are encouraged to explore other scholarship options in their home country or in Korea, if eligible.

Global Korea Scholarship
  • The Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) program is run by the National Institute for International Education, a government body under the Ministry of Education in Korea.
  • Incoming exchange students can apply for this scholarship only through nomination by Dankook University. This means that students cannot apply directly to the government but must go through Dankook University's nomination process to be considered for the scholarship.
  • Chosen students will receive a settlement allowance of 200,000 KRW, monthly living expenses of 500,000 KRW, monthly insurance fees of 70,000 KRW, and reimbursement for round-trip airfare up to the specified limits.
  • Further guidance on applying for this scholarship will be provided to students upon their acceptance into Dankook University.
  • Evaluation criteria include GPA, Korean and English language test scores, study plans, recommendation letters, and more. Dankook University conducts the initial screening and nominates top candidates to the government, which makes the final decision.
  • Typically, application announcements occur in June/July for the Fall Semester and in December/January for the Spring Semester.
  • Scholarship details are subject to change without prior notice.
DUO-Korea Fellowship Programme
  • The DUO-Korea Programme, sponsored by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea, aims to foster balanced and enduring exchanges between Korean and European ASEM member countries.
  • Incoming exchange students from European universities are eligible to apply for this scholarship exclusively through nomination by Dankook University. This entails that students cannot directly apply to the government but must undergo Dankook University's nomination process for scholarship consideration.
  • Selected students will receive a scholarship of 4,000 Euros.
  • Evaluation criteria encompass GPA, study plans, recommendation letters, and more. Dankook University conducts the initial screening and nominates top candidates to the institution, which makes the final decision.
  • This scholarship is specifically available for students commencing their exchange semester in the fall term. Typically, application announcements are made in May. As this scholarship requires a reciprocal exchange, not all incoming exchange students will have the opportunity to apply. Availability is contingent upon the presence of Dankook University students studying abroad during that particular semester.
