The Language Tutoring Program (LTP), a platform designed to connect foreign exchange students with DKU students and foster the exchange of language and culture. As a tutor in this program, you will have the opportunity to teach a small group of five DKU students through a three-hour conversation class every week. By participating in this program, you will not only gain experience in language instruction but also immerse yourself in the Korean school life and form connections with DKU students. Additionally, upon successful completion, tutoring students will receive a reward of 1,000,000 won to cover on-campus accommodation expenses for the semester!

Eligibility
  • Exchange/visiting students living on campus whose native language is English, Japanese, Chinese, German, French, or Spanish. Non-native speakers may also apply, but they should demonstrate fluency in the language they wish to teach.
  • Exchange/visiting students who are enthusiastic about teaching languages and engaging in cultural exchange with Korean students.
Tutoring Class
  • Tutors will be required to complete 24 hours of teaching throughout the semester, with a 2-hour session per week for 12 weeks (plus a one-hour orientation).
  • Tutoring classes will take place on weekdays between 6 pm and 8 pm.
  • English, Japanese, and Chinese tutoring classes will be offered at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, assigned by us. German, French, and Spanish classes will be for absolute beginners only.
How to Apply
  • To apply, students need to submit a short self-introduction video. In the video, applicants should include, but not limited to: why they are applying for this program, how they plan to lead their tutoring tutoring class, what they hope to learn through the program, etc. The duration of video should be less than 2 minutes.
